World War III?

Posted: August 2, 2006 in Misc., My Opinion, Random

Has Word War III finally arrived?  Is it possible that after World War I and World War II, the global community has not figured it out?  Once again, the wars plaguing us today are not about land expansion and global domination.  No, we are facing holy wars, wars of ideals and religion, wars of differing beliefs and cultural preference.  At this time, there is war in Iraq, there is war in Lebanon and there is war in Sri Lanka.  Iran wants nuclear power and North Korea wants to test long range missiles.  Granted, these wars and issues are all separate from one another so there is no large unified front, but that could change in a heartbeat.  What has led up to this global unrest?  What will it take to reign in the egos, the stubbornness and the need to force your beliefs on others?  Although the events taking place today may not be as blatant as the events in World War I and world War II, they are very real and they are global in nature.  Not only are nations across the world affected and involved in some way, each day brings the very real possibility that other nations will pick a side and join in.  So again I ask, is World War III upon us?  If things don’t change soon, I think the we know what the answer is.
